Dota2 EliteX Online League - Rules
- Once signed up please check the forums regularly as updates/brackets/news will be release and we need all teams to stay informed.
Requirements:
- Must be a Manitoba Resident to participate in this tournament.
- Every player requires a forum account to participate
Cost: $50 per team. All proceeds go towards the prize pool.
I. Game Settings
Server Location: US East (unless both teams agree otherwise and get admin approval)
Game Mode: Captains Mode
Starting Team: Flip (See Starting picks / Starting sides (Ia))
Version: Tournament
Spectators: Enabled
Dota TV Delay: 2 minutes
Pausing: Unlimited (See Pausing rules below)
Cheats: Disabled
Ia. Starting picks/Starting sides
A Captain from one of the teams will Use the /flip command, one team will call heads or tails, the other team will /flip. The winner of the coin flip gets to decide on either side (radiant or dire) or first/second pick. On second game first pick and side switch.
Example: Team A calls heads. Captain flips the coin. Coin is heads. Team A wins the flip and decides they want to play radiant. Team B then gets to decide if they want first or second pick.
II. Observers, Casters, and Streamers
Casual observers are never permitted. Only players, EliteX casters, Game Admins and AYBO staff should be in games. Anyone streaming must use a 2 minute delay.
III. Matches
IIIa. Layout
Matches will be played in a Split Pool (5 teams each) Round Robin (Bo2). That will seed into a Double Elimination Bracket(Bo3). Grand finals will be Bo5.
IIIb. Match Result Reporting
Match results will be posted by the winning team's captain in the Match's sub topic [Please follow the format] if there is a tie then both teams need to come to an agreement on who will post. The game results will then be officially recorded and posted. If there is any issues with results, we require screenshots of the results at the end of the game or the .dem file [the replay]. Match results will be used in future seeding for events.
V. Match Times
Va. Default Time
The default time of the match will be:
19:00 CST (7:00pm)
Match's will be played by default on Thursday's. Match Times can be rescheduled by discussing with the other team in the match post.
If both teams cannot agree on a time, both will be given a deferred loss.
If one team is available during the entire duration but one team cannot play for one reason or another, that team will have a deferred loss.
If a team forfeits, it is up to the other team to decide whether or not they will play.
VI. Presence & Punctuality
If one team has not shown any sign of activity/attempt to join the lobby (that includes: no team member has joined the lobby, all other attempts to contact the team failed) after 30 minutes past planned start date that team will be automatic disqualified.
Both teams are permitted a 10 minute break in between matches if required.
VII. Team Size
A team has to consist of at least 5 members. A team may have up to 2 Stand-in's and they must be stated when registering the team. If situations occur teams can change their roster with admin approval.
VIIa. Stand-ins
The amount of stand-ins used by a team in each game is limited to 2. Furthermore a person is not allowed to stand in, if he is member of a different team.
VIII. Servers
The default server location is US East. Other servers may be used, if both teams agree or the administration decides on it.
IX. Pauses
Each team has the right to pause the game for an acceptable duration to the issue at hand and give a coherent reason (exception: someone disconnects). The game must not be resumed before both teams agree to have the match resume. The max allowed pause time per match is fifteen(15) minutes. Once the fifteen minute pause time has been reached the opposing team is allowed to unpause and resume the match.
X. Cheating/Breaking rules
Cheating/breaking rules under any circumstance is never permitted, and is punishable by team disqualification and player ban from future events.
