I'm in the market for a new monitor, requirements:
>= 27" Ultrawide and 4K are OK Must have USB3 hub Must have Displayport (multiple DP preferred)
Thoughts and recommendations?
I'm coming from a 5 - 6 year old 27" dell ultrasharp 1440p screen. It's starting to have some issues.

I'd actually be using it for work more than anything else. Only been playing CS:GO on PC. This is why I've been thinking ultrawide verses 4k.

4k you'll need a crazy gfx to support games, may want to consider ultrawide instead. what card do you got?

GTX 760 2gb card, can't remember the manufacturer.
Ultrawide appears to be the best option, now which model? I've been eyeing the LG 34UC98 but that's beyond what I'm interested in paying and I think at 34" that might be a bit large.

you might want to invest in a freesync or g-sync ultrawide to be future ready the only issue is it locks to amd or nvidia

Problem is more than half the time the monitor is connected to a laptop (miniDP->DP) so I wouldn't want it to be dependent on connected hardware.

a 2gb card will probably not be capable of playing recentish games on an ultrawide resolution, you'd haffta drastically lower settings, that being said, I'd stick with the ~27 inch area, as other ones are usually to big for most people considering how close you are to your desk. This is a good deal, older model but more than good enough for what your asking for, and memory express has two left www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX57038
